Camp Cooinda Easter Camp 2025: Leadership, Adventure & Canoe TLC

A weekend of leadership, teamwork, and just the right amount of chaos!

Are you ready for an action-packed leadership experience with a twist?

Camp Cooinda's Easter Camp is all about stepping up, thinking on your feet, and working as a team—and this year, we're throwing you into a real-time overnight evacuation exercise.

We all know the emergency assembly drill we do at the start of every program, but Cooinda has not had to do a complete evacuation for many years. This is your chance to be part of the team that figures out how we'd actually do it—and has a lot of fun in the process! Expect unexpected challenges, fast decisions, and a few surprises along the way. Think problem-solving meets adventure training, with plenty of laughs and the classic Cooinda spirit.

Easter is gonna be about hands-on experiences, problem-solving, and reflective leadership practice to support you in building the leadership nous needed to work with campers and fellow leaders in real-world situations.

Not into emergency drills? Love working with your hands instead? We're also looking for a maintenance crew to help get our canoes up to scratch! If you enjoy sanding, sealing, fibreglassing, and a bit of woodwork, this is the perfect chance to get hands-on, learn some skills, and help keep Cooinda's fleet in top shape for the next generation of campers.

We provide all meals throughout the program and can accommodate special dietary requirements – please indicate your needs when you apply.

Participants may not consume alcohol or possess or use illegal drugs at Camp Cooinda.

Dates:

Thursday, 17 April 2025 (arriving after 8 pm) to Monday, 21 April 2025 (departing around 3 pm).

Location: Camp Cooinda & Bairnsdale Scout Hall (evacuation site)

Who is Easter Camp for?

Easter Camp is for anyone who loves Cooinda and wants to be part of a fun, hands-on weekend of leadership, adventure, and teamwork. Whether you're deep into your leadership journey or just starting out, this is a great chance to connect, learn, and contribute in a way that suits you.

Current and former leaders: If you want to get your Cooinda fix between summer programs, this is your chance! Reconnect with friends, brush up on your skills, and take on a new challenge.

  • Friends of Cooinda: – If you've heard about Cooinda from a mate and are curious about what we do, Easter Camp is the perfect way to see it in action. Whether you're considering leading one day or want to experience the Cooinda vibe, you're welcome to join in!
  • Cooinda campers who are now 18 – If you've aged out of camp but don't want to lose that Cooinda magic, this is your first step into leadership. Easter Camp is a great way to build confidence, learn leadership skills, and ease into the next stage of your Cooinda journey.

Whether you're here for the overnight evacuation challenge, the canoe maintenance crew, or just to hang out and have a great time, Easter Camp is for you!
