Prospective Leaders

If you are over 18 years of age and are interested in becoming a leader at Camp Cooinda, check the dates for summer camps as well as other pages on this site, which will give you a good idea of what is required to be a leader at Cooinda.

All leaders are asked to attend a training weekend prior to the summer. The next leader training camp will be held from 30 November to 2 December 2012.

After reading Becoming a Leader 2012, if you are available to volunteer for one of the camp programs next summer and would like to receive a Leader Application Form and more information - particularly about applicants from overseas and states other than Victoria - please complete and send the Leader Inquiry Form.

Please note:

• Because of the number of inquiries received about being a leader at Camp Cooinda, we send further information only to people who provide the information requested on the Leader Inquiry Form.
• All leaders are voluntary. Camp Cooinda does not employ paid staff.
• Camp Cooinda operates camp programs only in the summer school holidays in December - January each year.

If you are interested in being a leader, please contact Camp Cooinda Inc. as soon as possible. Most inquiries are handled in August to­ October and selection procedures for leaders for camps next summer must be completed by early in November.

Current Leaders

Welcome to the Leaders section. If you are a current or past leader, logon and check out the new CCNet via the main navigation bar. In there, you will find the Voice of the Nargun newsletter, leader forum and heaps more. Current leaders receive a mailing from Camp Cooinda each year with information about the coming summer camps. If you are a current leader and have not received leader information by the end of August, please contact us using the Leader Inquiry Form.

Easter Camp

Our Easter Camp offers the Cooinda experience to our leaders and other adults who would like to be part of Camp Cooinda and are interested in being a volunteer leader in the future. If you're inspired by the idea of camping under the stars, canoeing and being part of an overnight expedition, then Easter Camp is for you.
