Rotamah Island is located between Sperm Whale Head and the coast, and is part of the Lakes National Park administered by Parks Victoria. It is a natural wildlife sactuary and a great place for bird watching. On the northern side is a picnic area and the original farm house, now managed by Birds Australia as an observatory.
The only access is via boat, there is a large jetty on the northern side. Well made tracks lead round the island and to Ninety Mile beach. A causeway and a small foot bridge allow access to the coast from the south side of the island.
Camp Cooinda books a group camp site on the southside of Rotamah Island for patrols to expedition to. Toilets, shelter and fire pit are available to patrols who may choose to launch/hike, canoe or kayak to Rotamah Island. Swimming is good on the north side of the island and it doesnt take long to walk to the fabulous Ninety Mile Beach for fun and games.
