Bunga Arm

Bunga Arm is part of the Gippsland National Parks System. It has group camping sites on the strip of land between Bunga Arm and Bass Straight. Cooinda books some of these sites if they are required by patrols for expeditions.

The sites are on the lakeside and are basically small areas cleared from dense Tea tree and schrubs. They are well sheltered and swimming in Bunga Arm is fantastic.

One of the best things about Bunga Arm Camp sites is the access to Ninety Mile Beach. It takes less than 5 minutes to walk to Ninety Mile Beach, literally over the sand dunes. Ninety Mile Beach is a beautiful surf beach with clean sand and giant sand dunes.

Unfortuantly the ocean is too dangerous to swim in due to powerful undertowes and the high population of sharks. However the beach is perfect for Kite flying, Cricket, Ultimate, Sand Sculptures, Shark Spotting and many other activites. Many Patrols have been lulled to sleep by the deep rumble of the surf from Ninety Mile Beach.

Patrols have been know to arrive at Bunga Arm Camp Sites by canoe, kayak, hiking and the trusty Camp Launch.
